Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Sheffield Shodokan Aikido website!

Would you like to start learning aikido? If so, contact us on 07785 230 384 to speak to our main instructor Scott Allbright or by email to Chris Leong <christ_c80@yahoo.com.hk>, to speak to the club secretary.

We train 6 days a week, all year round, in Sheffield City Centre. With over ten hours of training a week (non including student training times), we believe we are the aikido club which offers the most training in Sheffield.

Aikido is suited for both men and women. The aikido we practise is a competitive style developed in Japan 50 years ago; members of our club take part in national and international competitions - as such, we have a strong slant towards competition training; but you can also start aikido to keep fit with the "beginner onwards" technical classes.

We hold two intensive training events, which beginners can join from: Kangeiko is a week-long training challenge in the winter (February); the challenge is to complete 24 hours of training in 7 days! We train morning, afternoon and evening. Contact us for more info! From beginners onwards.

Aikido marathon is a day long training challenge in November; the challenge is to train for 14 hours in 1 day! From beginners onwards.
